A collection of famous lines from the Korean movie 'Little Forest' "Ignore important things and live only busy with the moment"

I finally watched the movie 'Little Forest (2018)' directed by Im Soon-rye, based on the popular manga 'Little Forest' by Daisuke Igarashi.

Fresh plants that can only be eaten in that season? Vegetable tempura? Acacia tempura... Mugwort tempura, etc... It's an impressive movie with scenes like that and the main character eating various foods one by one after the other. It's a movie that made me think that I need to be good at cooking to live a peaceful life...

And... 'Little Forest' is a movie that throws many important life quotes at the audience.

Exams, love, employment…

Hye-won (Kim Tae-ri), who returns to her hometown after a brief break from her daily life where nothing goes as planned, meets her old friends Jae-ha (Ryu Jun-yeol) and Eun-sook (Jin Ki-joo).

Jae-ha returns to her hometown to live a life of her own, different from others. Eun-sook dreams of an escape from her ordinary daily life. Hye-won spends each day with her old friends she met back home...

She makes each meal with the crops she grows herself, and goes through winter, spring, summer, fall, and then winter again...

This is what the main character Hye-won, who didn't want to talk to her boyfriend, said to herself as she hung up the phone, lying that she couldn't hear well.

"Why are you living such a hard life..."

Hye-won, who had been living such a hard life, returned to her hometown and spent her time comfortably cooking and eating, plowing the fields, and planting rice, physically tired but mentally comfortable.

 "About leaving..."

Hye-won speaks as if she is talking to herself. She left her hometown in search of something... and...

"And I came back alone.

Without finding any answers...

Did she find her mother?"

She thinks about her mother, whom she has not seen for a long time.

"Worry..."

While working... we talk... we talk about the very thing we think about, worry. The commonality between weeds and worry...

"This damn weed

will keep growing even if you pull it out.

Worry keeps growing again."

"The Gift of Time"

"The taste of braised chestnuts

is that autumn is deepening."

There is a hidden story of life that can only be enjoyed in that season according to the change of seasons.

"You can only eat really delicious dried persimmons when winter comes."

Just as dried persimmons take time to dry to develop their flavor, something takes time to achieve its proper results. She was advising us not to be too impatient and live our lives by comparing it to the seasons.

The day after it rained heavily, the moment she was putting up the fallen rice, she said, "How can we fight against what the heavens are doing..." and her great aunt said to Hye-won, who was grumbling that it was hard.

"If you move your body instead of talking,

It will end someday."

Here is the difference between something that is not solved with time and something that is solved with time. You have to do something to solve it with time. If you do nothing, the problem will just stay that way.

The fundamental question of life...

Jae-ha poses a fundamental question...

'If you live so busy,

Does that solve the problem? '

Yes, if you live busy, the problem is not solved.

There was a famous line that really seemed to be directed at me.

"Ignoring important things

Pretending to live diligently at the time...

I'm covering it up with worries."

It seemed like I was avoiding important things that I really needed to do and spending my time busy with other things. I felt like an idiot.

The answer given by the movie...

I need to find my own little forest. In that forest, I need to figure out what's important again... and do that...

Don't just live meaninglessly and busy, but live with priorities.

That's how problems are solved. If you just cover up and forget about problems, they won't be solved and your worries will only increase. If you can solve it by leaving, you should leave.

And as I watched Hye-won, who used to eat only instant food, return to her hometown and take her time to cook and eat, I thought that things that are easily obtained can be consumed and forgotten just as easily.

Whether it's food or life goals... if something is easily obtained, it probably has no value... so if you put in the effort to achieve it preciously, even if it's difficult, wouldn't it have that much value, be remembered for a long time, and be that much happier?

The movie 'Little Forest' raises fundamental questions about life. What is important? What do we live for now? And it seems like a warning to modern people who are busy living uselessly.

If you think it's not, you should boldly get away from the wrong choice... Why is that so difficult? I need to think again about what is most important and a priority for me.

The movie is a totally wonderfully made movie!!! Highly recommended!!! This is a must-see movie for anyone who has a lot of worries and lives a busy life.
